The kids were in the pageant at Church again this year. This year both Ayla and Kieran were shepherds:
Dave and I surprised the kids this year with tickets on The Polar Express. This is put on each year by the VT Children's Trust Foundation as their annual fundraiser. The experiences echoes the story. All of the kids arrive in pj's and are wisked away on the train from Burlington down the tracks and back for about 20 minutes. On the train there is hot cocoa, cookies and caroling. Once you arrive in the North Pole (Burlington) you get off to elves (about 400 volunteers) all welcoming, signing and greeting you. You are then treated to a reading of the story and a visit with Santa. A wonderful and magical experience.
Here we are decorating the tree:
Kieran joined the drama company this year. They had a total of about 6 practices and then performed at their weekly all school morning meeting. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the show but here is a picture of the kids with the directors before they started the show.
Kieran enjoys playing basketball. This year they had a grade 3/4 game against a neighboring town, South Hero. Kieran is the player with the 1 on his back, his team did very well and ended up winning.
Ayla loves animals and has become really fond of Skeezit, our friend Dick's dog:
